“Two things at once” technique is a good way of creating a moment of shock. This affect can be made by detail shooting and editing making the audience to expect nothing, then have something surprising happen. For this technique, we see two characters in different places. In each shot we cut back and forth between the two characters and each shot has to be the same amount of length. Then gradually with similar-looking shots, have the two characters meet at once place in shock. It’s better to shoot the victim from behind creating the feeling that we are following him back.
